This week's question
Why is it that according to the Zone I always have to eat proteins, carbohydrates and fats together?
All three macronutrients are important for controlling the level of insulin, so that it is neither too low nor too high.  The correct protein to carbohydrate ratio for each meal and snack makes this possible; the fats slow down carbohydrate absorption and so play an indirect role in controlling insulin production.
